Have you ever wanted to make your own uniquely stylish lampshade? Now is your chance with our Two Day Soft Lampshade Making Workshop, with Emily Johnson from Lampshade Rebellion.

In this workshop you will be making traditional soft lampshades, rather than the stiff, modern drum-style. You will learn how to pattern-cut, and sew your own fully lined soft lampshade, making decisions about colour, shape, and style before the final flourish of adding trims. The class is suitable for beginners, but basic sewing skills are required as we will be working with sewing machines as well as using hand-stitching techniques - don’t worry though, lots of help and guidance will be available as we always keep the groups nice and small.

All materials will be supplied, including a variety of small frames (perfect for bedside table lamps), as well as a selection of gorgeous fabrics and trims to choose from. If you have a particular fabric you would like to use we will try to accommodate this but please contact us before hand so we can check with Emily that the fabric is suitable for the class.

This workshop is all about learning in a fun, supportive atmosphere where everyone gets to walk away with their own unique handmade lampshade!

Workshop schedule: 09:30 – 16:30 both days, with a c.30 - 45minute lunch break.
