Join Bookbinder and Illustrator Kate Kennon on this fun one day workshop for the complete beginner to bookbinding.

We will start gently by making a small book with simple materials found in the recycling bin, It's a fabulous creative way to use up your card recycling and a great fun no pressure introduction to the basics. After that we will move onto your first simple handstitched notebook, delve into the saddle-stitch technique as you create a simple book utilising items sourced from the recycling box. Once you've mastered this foundational skill, transition to the next workshop segment, where you'll learn and apply techniques for crafting leather - or vegan leather - bound books. Kate will provide lots of beautiful quality papers to choose from for your hand stitched notebooks . We keep the group size nice and small so Kate will be on hand to guide and advise if you need extra help or inspiration.

Throughout the workshop, Kate will share her expertise, offering a wealth of helpful tips, resources, and inspirational ideas. By the end of the day, you will take home a personalised handmade book and leave with newfound confidence and the ability to continue this relaxing and fulfilling craft at your leisure. Theses delightful and unique notebooks can be given as gifts to loved ones or you can use them for sketchbooks or list keeping, as Kate herself does.

All materials provided and you will leave with at least 3 handmade books of different types.
