Jane Wright

Jane Wright is a Fine Artist and Lacemaker. She has been making and teaching bobbin lace locally for 40 years and is an expert in her field. 

Using traditional techniques she is developing contemporary pieces of Art Lace fit for modern times. Featuring unusual threads such as silk covered steel wire she creates large sculptural works which challenge the conceptions of what lace is.
Jane also paints the natural world, primarily using watercolour and gouache, but works in other media as the subject and interpretation demands, and as light relief she is exploring abstraction using acrylic and primary colour. Focus on detail and structure is a feature of both her work streams.
